In the early 90s, I was in a band called Chain To Thread. Recently, a copy of our demo sold for a ridiculous sum of money on Discogs. Seeing as I feel no one should be shelling out such a large amount of duckets to hear this music, I created a Bandcamp page containing all our recorded output.
I don’t know if there’s much of a story to the band. We existed for barely a year and played shows with the usual culprits of the east coast 1990s circuit like Lifetime, 108, Rye Colation, Hose Got Cable, Greyhouse, etc. We were heavily influenced by Swiz and other D.C bands like The Faith and Marginal Man. As far as bands that existed around that time, we were very into Statue. Personally, I was gaga for anything on the Gravity label and tried to push things in that direction, but I don’t think it shows that much. We recorded a four-song demo in the Fall of 1993 and then recorded two songs sometime in early 1994 for a split seven-inch with the band Bleed. All of that music is contained on the Bandcamp page.
This isn’t my proudest moment and I’m not looking to relive some Al Bundy-like glory to this brief moment in my life. I just figured if people are interested enough to pay money for an original copy of our demo tape, the music should be out there to hear at a reasonable price.
Listening to this stuff makes my b-hole pucker something fierce, but I hope you find amusement in my angsty early-20s.
Thank you to Tim McMahon for supplying an OG copy of the demo and the bands’ drummer Jason Jammer for converting it into the digital format and scanning the artwork from the demo.
Any chance you could list the band's members, please? Cheers
