Welcome back for episode number three of the Sandpaper Lullaby podcast. We really hope you’ve been enjoying what we’ve been serving up so far.
This time on the pod, I spoke with old pal and renowned tattoo artist Robert Ryan. Based out of Asbury Park where he co-owns Electric Tattoo, Ryan was a part of the New Jersey hardcore scene in the late ’80s and early ‘90s and one of the first kids I remember to adopt Krishna Consciousness into his life. We talked about that as well as his explorations with hallucinogenic drugs and how it guided him through the formation of his late ‘90’s band, Lord Sterling. We of course also talk about his visual art and his tattooing and how the spirituality discovered all those years ago informs it all.
Thanks to Robert for his time and use of his studio. The producer of this podcast is Eliot Muka. Our next episode will be up on March 8th where our guest will be Brian Gorsegner of the Night Birds. Hope you’ll check it out!
